Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world, because of our sun exposure. More than 11,500 Australian men and women are diagnosed with a melanoma each year. There are three types of skin cancers; melanomas, squamous carcinomas (SCC's) and basal cell carcinomas (BCC's). The Cancer Council recommends all adults should check their moles regularly. Seeing a Skin Cancer GP and getting an assessment of your risk and how often you should get checked is important, to prevent an unnecessary death from a preventable disease.
